Next Economic Package About E-Commerce, Digital Economy: Top Officials

The government will include e-commerce development in its 14th economic policy package, top officials said on Tuesday.
"That's the plan. We will look for the right moment," Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution told reporters after a limited meeting on e-commerce at the Presidential Office in Jakarta.
Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung concurred with Darmin's statement, adding that the government was preparing a presidential regulation (Perpres) on an e-commerce roadmap.
"The next package will be about e-commerce and the digital economy in general. We are currently preparing the Perpres," Pramono said.
Communications and Information Minister Rudiantara added that the roadmap would consist of 31 initiatives to address seven issues in the e-commerce sector, namely human resources and education, access to capital, tax incentives, consumer protection, cyber security, logistics and communication infrastructure.
"There are 31 initiatives being prepared in the regulation," he said, adding that the government hopes to build a US$130 billion e-commerce market by 2020.
